Seattle weekend getaway to Leavenworth — Bavarian charm in the Cascades

February 24, 2021 by Matthew Kessi

A mystical place exists in the middle of the Cascade Mountains in Washington State, where unobstructed nature meets with Bavarian-themed celebration to create a magical balance. This world seems to perfectly ride the line between a tourist nightmare and a charming mountain hamlet invitingly. German food and great beer amongst jagged peaks feel right at home and can be … [Read more...] about Seattle weekend getaway to Leavenworth — Bavarian charm in the Cascades

Portland from Seattle — the best ways to travel

February 17, 2021 by Matthew Kessi

The Pacific Northwest is a relatively open space of land that makes up diverse beauty. The population of Washington is 7.6 million and Oregon hails around 4.2 million people, for an area larger than the size of Germany, which has 83 million people. "Full disclosure, I’m not a true vegan. Sure, I came of age as a young adult in Portland, around tons of friends who were veggies and strict vegans, but the plant-based lifestyle has been an acquired taste for me over the years. Although I’ve always loved anything made with chickpeas, I fell accidentally into becoming a pescatarian about three years ago when the doctor … [Read more...] about Vegan restaurant guide to Seattle

Where to stay Seattle — pro tips to the best neighborhoods

February 10, 2021 by Matthew Kessi

A view of buildings on the Seattle skyline as well as the Capitol Hill neighborhood below. Cars are moving on the streets and the lights are just beginning to turn on for the evening.

Seattle is a city busting with natural beauty in every direction. Dramatic mountains partner with the flowing Salish Sea to frame in a metropolitan area rich with views and abundant water, seemingly in every direction. The topography adds further texture to the makeup of the city, where steep hills ring nerves of many a manual transmission driver traversing between … [Read more...] about Where to stay Seattle — pro tips to the best neighborhoods

I would like to acknowledge that much of my inspiration comes from living on the traditional land of the first people of Seattle, the Duwamish People past and present and honor with gratitude the land itself and the Duwamish Tribe.
