Mystic Nature Experiences — how to prepare

How to prepare for a mystic connection to nature

A mystic experience in nature is enlightening and should be authentic to you. It’s helpful to arrive with mindful attention so you can get the most out of our time together — which is a stepping stone toward transformation in your life.

Sunbeams shine through a forest full of thin spruce trees. The trail passes through sword ferns and other bright green ground cover.
Coastal hiking can be soul nourishing.

Practice making a conscious intention

Like any travel, this experience is only as valuable as the heart, child-like curiosity, and trust you feed it.  The faster you are able to quiet your being the quicker nature’s medicine can take hold.

Try practicing a day or so before we meet, visualizing the steps below.

Take 10 minutes to find quiet

Remove distraction & technology and sit somewhere comfortable, preferably looking at a plant or outside to nature.  Think about the beautiful grounds that make up the Washington Park Arboretum — leaves, dirt, trees, ponds.

What do you want from this experience?

With the Park in mind, ask your heart what it wants from this specific experience. Take time and try to go as deep as possible. The answer might be very simple… that’s okay. This is your conscious intention.

Commit to the experience

Make one or two agreements with your heart in order to keep this time sacred to the intention. Perhaps commit to removing technology for the whole experience or to keep an open mind… or both.

Preparing to come together

Our experience will include up to five participants and yours truly, leading the way. I’ll speak at different times, and you’ll be free to ask questions. Otherwise, since this is about each human’s own personal mystic connection with nature, look at this as a silent meditation.

The Washington Park Arboretum is a beautiful but also popular place for people to visit. It is likely there will be distractions stirring. But the magic of learning a new way to see and connect with nature is the ability to stay deeply centered despite external “noise”. Ponder this concept and stay aware of the ways you can maintain stillness within.

What to wear & bring?

Seattle weather varies & changes often.

Waterproof footwear and jacket are important most of the year, as well as layers, water, sunscreen, or a hat — anything you need to feel safe and comfortable. Keep in mind you might be sitting on grass or in the dirt.

    Physical requirements?

Walking and some stairs are typical.

Finding a setting that supports our experience involves a bit of walking and a few stairs here and there. The overall distance should be less than a mile. Let me know if you have any particular limitations.

      What should I expect?

      Be open to the outcome.

Learning to see Mother Earth in a new way takes practice and patience. That means your mystic connection to nature will be different from mine, or the person next to you. Try to let go of expectations and trust that you are, indeed, receiving the medicine.

When it’s time to walk together

Nature is ready to welcome your open heart, child-like curiosity, and trust. I’ll guide you along the way.

We’ll meet at the E Lynn St entrance to the Arboretum

There is street parking at the end of E Lynn St and also in parking lot #17, marked by the black-circled “P” on the map shown. Montlake Tot Lot is the closest landmark — we’ll start in the grove of majestic sequoia just south of this spot. The experience utilizes the entire hour, so please arrive at the meeting point on time and ready.

Give yourself permission to be fully present

The quieter your headspace, the sooner you’ll connect to nature. Plan ahead and do whatever it takes to mentally create space that’s free from external demands. If you bring a phone or smartwatch, please turn them off.

Be mindful of your conscious intention

While arriving recall your intentions for our time together, including the commitments you made for your heart. We are about to enter into a different world, so do the best you can to invite stillness within you.

You’re ready to see nature in a new way!

A mystic connection with nature is exciting and every experience is unique. I look forward to our time together. If you have any questions, feel free to email me.
