Press & Podcasts — Matthew Kessi, Author of The Wild Cure

Matthew Kessi stands for a selfie in front of the entrance to Mt. Rainier National Park on a trip from Seattle. He's smiling and wearing a gray puffy coat and plaid brown shirt while the yellow stripe of the pavement glides by in the background. A wooden sign swings above him saying "Mt. Rainier National Park."

Press & Podcasts

I love a conversation that has room to go somewhere real.

I’ve brought this work to audiences of hikers, travellers, seekers, and people navigating the second half of life. The thread is always the same — what the Natural World has to teach us about ourselves — but the doorway changes depending on who’s listening. That’s the part I enjoy most.

If you’re producing a show or an event, I’d love to hear from you.

What I Speak About

The Forgotten Medicine — why reconnecting with the Natural World restores calm, clarity, and creative energy, and what the research actually shows.

The Kinship Questions™ — a six-question framework for moving from visiting Nature to being in relationship with it.

Practical Mysticism — holding the sacred and the useful at the same time, without asking anyone to believe anything.

When Insight Isn’t Enough — why people who understand their own patterns perfectly often can’t change them, and what does work.

Befriending the Shadow — using the Natural World as a safe container for the parts of ourselves we were taught to hide.

From Corporate to Calling — twenty-five years in airline management, a layoff, and what came after.

I’m comfortable with grief, burnout, midlife reckoning, and the messy middle of change — and equally comfortable keeping it grounded and practical for a general audience. Tell me about your listeners and we’ll find the right doorway.

Matthew Kessi helps people stop running from the parts of themselves they were never taught to love, using the Natural World as both mirror and medicine.

He’s the author of The Wild Cure and the creator of the Kinship Questions™, a framework for moving from visiting Nature to living in relationship with it.

He leads private mentorship and guided forest bathing from his home in Seattle.
